Not the news you wanted to hear

Hi everyone,

Well...

If you haven't guessed, I've been offline for the last few months. This was partly by choice and partly by happenstance. I had been meaning to disconnect in order to clear my head, then circumstances dictated that I have limited internet access.

Is ASSTR still down? I fear this will be its permanent demise. The site has been slowly dying for the past year. First, the commenting feature went down and was never fixed. Then, the website itself started experiencing hiccups in loading.

And then... earlier this year, the United States passed a law that holds websites liable for the conduct of its users.

I don't have confirmation that FOSTA-SESTA is the reason ASSTR went down. But I suspect this new law is definitely on their minds.

Could I post here at the blogger.com? Technically no. The story content (if you know what I mean) violates the Terms of Service. The published comments from readers probably toe the line as well.

Could I publish as an author on Amazon? No, they also have stringent rules about content.

Every reputable story site has the same rules: no content involving you-know-what.

What now? Beats me. I want a story site that is free, allows reader feedback, allows any and all content, and one that is in it for the long haul (won't unexpectedly die). I don't think a story site like this exists. If you know one, comment below.

On the other hand, I haven't written much new material anyway. I had a lot more planned for the Jeremy series, but very little beyond the outline stage. Will I continue writing? It's hard to say. The lack of a publishing platform is a definite disincentive.

Besides, Chapter 19 isn't a terrible way to end the series.

I'm not saying I'm done writing. Just thinking out loud. If/when I post another chapter, I'll make sure to update this website to let you all know. In any case, thanks for reading and thanks for being a fan.

Chapter 19 - Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Chapter 19 is finally here! I hope you like it.

Trivia note: Advanced Warfare is an actual game in the Call of Duty series!

Please tell me I'm clever.
